Bits & Pretzels Conference 2015: How It Was
As you already know, Redwerk is an active member of the IT community, not just local, but also international. As we were looking forward to more exciting IT events this autumn, the opportunity wasn’t long to wait. On September, 27-29 our team went to Bitz & Pretzels conference in Munich which is a famous event in Western European IT community. Nearly 3500 people were attending the event and this was a great chance for informal networking, making new contacts and partnerships and just updating your knowledge to the latest technology trends.
There were some exciting speakers including Mikkel Svane, CEO of Zendesk who was sharing his company’s success story. Very inspiring as well as everything Zendesk guys do! By the way, Redwerk has been developing Zendesk integrations even back in 2009, long before it became mainstream.
Also it was an exciting opportunity to listen to Ben Parr, the PR guru, an expert on growth strategies for startups and an author of a bestseller “Captivology: The Science of Capturing People’s Attention”. He was talking about special techniques of how to capture people’s attention and to be a charismatic evangelist of your product.
Bits & Pretzels is a wonderful place for startups to show and pitch themselves. We have met a bunch of great guys who are making wonderful products.
Jochen Braun, the Director of Business Development at OnPage.org, an advanced SEO toolkit, was an incredibly interesting person to talk to and discuss some prospects for working together. Great thing about OnPage.org is that this toolkit provides detailed SEO analysis of a website focusing on technical factors which are extremely important. Technical SEO audit is quite an expensive thing today, so OnPage.org is the right solution for those who cannot afford SEO agency.
There was an excellent catch up with Florian Leibert, CEO & Founder at Mesosphere,Inc., the provider of automated datacenter operating system. Even at the first sight this product looks like a real technology capable of simplifying everything in running a data center. Hope we end up working together, as the product is absolutely impressive, and we’d love to take part in its development.
On September, 29 there was a special event within the conference called Bits & Pretzels Network Tables, which was an awesome combination of Oktoberfest fun and Bits & Pretzels valuable networking. Our CEO, Konstantin Klyagin attended this event and his table was fully dedicated to fintech startups. Lots of interesting discussions and products like PayProp, PickThatPlace and others.
It’s impossible to mention all the exciting products and people at Bits & Pretzels conference. Generally speaking, that was an awesome knowledge boost, valuable networking and lots of fun at Oktoberfest parties. We are definitely coming the next year!

«Adept, agile, responsive, expert. Just a few of the many words that could be used to describe the Redwerk team. At 9yahds, we’ve had very specific Python/Django requirements and have been deeply impressed with the quality and elegance of the code they’ve provided. Redwerk isn’t simply a vendor. We consider them part of the 9yahds team.» — Paul McIsaac, Founder at 9yahds, Inc.
